Bonnie Clerk came into this world on September 8th, 1994, in Houston, Texas, United States. Her mother was Earline Clerk, and her father was Vernon Clerk. She grew up in a family of four, along with her sister Beverly Clerk.
In August 1959, Bonnie gave birth to her son, Vernon Wayne Howell, at the mere age of 14 years. Bonnie’s boyfriend left her even before she became a mother, and at just 14, she couldn’t do much. She moved in with an alcoholic man and gave her son to her mother, Earline.
Later, Bonnie married Roy Haldeman, and they started to raise Vernon together. They also became a part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The beliefs of Bonnie greatly impacted Vernon, causing him to join the same church before converting to a Branch Davidian and changing his name to David Koresh. However, Bonnie wasn’t a part or a member of Branch Davidian.

Bonnie’s son, David Koresh, came into the world, on August 17, 1959, when she was only 14 years old. When David turned 22, he moved to Waco, Texas, and joined the church Branch Davidian. The church had nothing related to the original Davidians; instead, it was spreading new teachings.
David took over the church as its leader after defeating the former leader’s son. David and his followers took over Mount Carmel in 1987. They performed numerous heinous crimes, such as polygamy, child sexual abuse, manipulation, etc.
The FBI began their surge to make David and his followers surrender. While Bonnie tried to save her son from the allegations. She hired one of the best defense lawyers from Huston. However, David didn’t surrender, which resulted in the FBI taking over Mount Carmel. The FBI tried to launch smog bombs to make everyone come out of the church. Instead, it led to a great fire where all the members died.
After her son’s death, Bonnie stayed with her sister and lived a simple life. She combined her life experiences in a book named Memories of the Branch Davidians: The Autobiography of David Koresh’s Mother, which she published in 2007.
She gave a few interviews afterward, talking about her life and her son. However, two years later, she was found dead on January 23rd, 2009. Her sister, Beverly, stabbed her to death and was declared, mentally unstable.
