Samuel Walker Shephard, lovingly known as Walker, was born on June 14th 1987 in Scottsville, Virginia, United States of America. He was born to Sam Shephard and Jessica Lange. He joined the band The Dust Busters after completing his education.

The Dust Busters

The Dust Busters is an American band that plays old-time string music in Brooklyn, New York City, United States of America. Much later they changed their name to the Down Hill Strugglers. The comprised four members, Craig Judelman, Samuel Walker Shephard, Jackson Lynch and Eli Smith. The band, unfortunately, lost Craig Judelman early on. At present, Samuel Walker Shephard handles, fiddle, banjo, harmonica and guitar, Jackson Lynch handles voice, guitar, banjo and fiddle and Eli Smith handles voice and most other instruments such as banjo, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, Jews harp and pump organ. The band is deeply influenced by Scottish and African music. IN 2012, the band played for an afterparty of Walker’s father’s play Heartless.

His father Sam Shephard

Sam Shephard was born on November 5th, 1943 in Fort Sheridan, Illinois, United States of America. He was born as Samuel Shephard Rogers IV. Sam lived a nomadic life due to his father’s military career and had two other siblings. His mother was a teacher originating from Chicago. Sam described his childhood to be disturbed as he came from a dysfunctional family due to his father’s alcoholic tendencies.

Sam is the recipient of 10 Obie Awards, which is a remarkable achievement as he is the only writer and director to have that many Obie awards.

Sadly, Sam passed away on July 27th 2017 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

His mother Jessica Lange

Jessica Lange is an established Hollywood actress born on April 20th, 1949 in Cloquet, Missouri, United States of America. She was born to Dorothy Florence and Albert John Lange.

Jessica did her schooling at Cloquet High School and went on to further education at the University of Minnesota majoring in art and photography. She is considered to be one of America’s finest actresses of all time.

In 1970, Jessica was married to a renowned photographer called Francisco Paco Grande, the pair however separated in 1982. She later was in a relationship with a ballet dancer, Mikhail Baryshnikov with whom she has one daughter, Aleksandra Lnage Shura Baryshnikov. The duo parted ways a couple of years later. After which, she began a relationship with playwright Sam Shephard in 1982. With whom she has a son and a daughter, Samuel Walker Shephard and Hannah Jane Shephard.
